German Studies Professor Chantelle Warner, together with Carl Blyth (University of Texas, Austin) and Joanna Luks (Cornell University), launched a new collaborative project for open educational resources around the concept of Foreign Languages and the Literary in the Everyday. The official launch took place as part of a workshop hosted by COERLL (the Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning) at the University of Texas, Austin. The project, supported by COERLL and the Center for Educational Resources for Culture, Language and Literacy at UA, aims to create a educational community of practice for teachers dedicated to creating, sharing, and peer reviewing literacy materials for L2 classrooms. Some of the exemplary materials displayed in the workshop included lessons developed by Chelsea Steinert, a Graduate Assistant Teacher in the German Language program, and by Professor Warner.
