Just like Japan, the conduct of business in Germany involves a lot of diplomacy and protocol, not to forget the highly specialized language. This course has been developed to provide students with a variety of tools that will allow them to navigate German in a professional manner regardless of the business environment they might encounter. The students will examine various communicative practices (phone calls, emails, letters, applications, interpersonal situations) and will learn how to function in various business settings. In addition, the class will investigate different business practices appropriate to those settings. We will explore relevant business documentations, such as resumes, cover letters and other important correspondence that would enable you to intern/work in German-speaking countries. Students will familiarize themselves with structural and stylistic patterns of technical written German, with a particular emphasis on business and economics.

Each week will cover one specific sector / branch / professional corporate setting to enable you to speak and discuss on a variety of topics pertaining German in a professional setting.

This course will be conducted in German, and the learning environment will be interactive, encouraging students to actively participate and to provide a supportive setting according to the language skills.
