Nekoye earned a Bachelor of Education in German and Geography from Kenyatta University in 2017. She has also undertaken professional courses in Goethe Institute and Trainings with DAAD. While in University, she served as the chairperson of German Club, where she planned boot camps that enabled members to gain more understanding of the German language. After graduation, she proceeded to teach German language in both high school and tertiary colleges.
Since 2019, she has served as an examiner of German Language with the Kenya National Examination Council. In addition, she is passionate about the performing arts, especially poetry, where she has trained students and also adjudicated performances.
Nekoye's interests are mainly pedagogical techniques in instructing German as a second language (DaF), phonetics and phonology, second language acquisition together with performing arts. Her goal is to promote diversity and inclusion by developing ways of integrating German language and culture with other cultures.
