Apply to the 2020 Summer Study-in-Leipzig-Germany Program by February 25!
The Leipzig Program is a unique opportunity to spend the summer in a historic city in the middle of Germany, immerse yourself in the German language and culture, make new friends, and earn 6 units of credit to fulfill the UA’s second language requirement (taking a 200 level course), work towards a major/minor in German Studies (taking a 300+ level course) or just to improve your language and cultural skills. Participants will also engage in a language/culture exchange with a German student and explore central Germany.
The program will take place June 1-30, 2020 (roughly the time of summer session I) and will earn participants 6 units of UA credit. There will also be a flexible one-week online preparation session in May and an orientation meeting in late April. Students of any area of study with a minimum of two semesters of college German are eligible to apply. Students planning to fulfill the four-semester second language requirement and majors and minors of German are particularly encouraged to join the program.
There are various scholarship opportunities and a good chance to receive financial assistance. Most scholarship application deadlines are February 5, 2020. You can find more information about the program (the city, university, housing, course levels, scholarships, costs, application process etc.) and apply here.
