Lone hacker Benjamin Engel (Tom Schilling) regales Europol officer Hanne Lindberg (Trine Dyrholm) the thrilling tale of how his Berlin based group, CLAY, takes on the notorious Russian cyber mafia FR13NDS and the mysterious leader MRX. Benjamin’s story starts from small time pranks, social media hoaxes, and hacktivism with the help of his fellow hackers, Max (Eylas M’Barek), Stephan (Wotan Wilke Möhring), and Paul (Antoine Monot Jr.). But when CLAY goes too far hacking the German Central Intelligence, they’re threatened by Europol and the FBI. But everything is not as it seems, especially online.
