"Herr Gröttrup setzt sich hin" and Other Stories: A Conversation with Sharon Dodua Otoo and Patrick Ploschnitzki

On Sept 30, 2-4PM EDT, Department of German Studies Graduate Student Patrick Ploschnitzki will contribute to a conversation about Sharon Dodua Otoo’s Bachmann Prize winning short story “Herr Gröttrup setzt sich hin” with the author, the moderator Tina Campt, and the translator of the British version, Katy Derbyshire. The virtual event—which is hosted by Deutsches Haus NYU, presented by Still Magazine, and funded by the DAAD from funds of the German Federal Foreign Office (AA)—will focus on Dodua Otoo’s text, the translation process into British and American English, and the question of representation and diversity in the German literary landscape.
