The latest installment of the Graduate and Professional Student Council's (GPSC) Graduate Enrichment Program (GEP) has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 7th 2012 at 2pm. The From the Ivory Tower to the Corporate Campus Workshop will be taught by Jeff Patten, Coordinator of Career Services. They will have room for 50 graduate and/or professional students to attend this workshop.
Graduate education often performs a reproductive function, turning out researchers with an academic focus geared towards theory and the expansion of knowledge. As such, graduate programs often neglect applied research or at least applied degrees. This presentation is designed to assist the graduate student in exploring and searching out jobs in the non-academic world, i.e. the corporate, government and non-profit sectors.
The From the Ivory Tower to the Corporate Campus Workshop will be held Tuesday, February 7th from 2:00-3:00pm in the Career Services Workshop Room, Student Union Suite #411 (SUMC 411).
