Dr. Albrecht Classen will discuss four 15th and 16th century German prints by Thielman Kerver (1497-1522) and Michael Wolgemut (1434-1519) this Friday, Feb. 21st at 12:30. The event will take place at the UA Museum of Art.

Dr. Classen has research interests covering the history of German and European literature and culture from about 800 to 1800. He has published more than 70 books and earned prestigious teaching awards from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, the 2012 Arizona Professor of th Year Award, a Five Star Faculty Award, and in 2009 the Henry and Phyliss Kofler Prize for Research, the highest award given by the University of Arizona.

Out of the Vault is a unique opportunity to see a work of art that is not currently on view.  This monthly speaker series highlights a work from our collection and demonstrates the breadth of the Museum's permanent collection.  Speakers are professors and graduate students from various disciplines across the UA campus. Admission is free for UA faculty and graduate students, and $5 for the general public.
