Professor Albrecht Classen introduces "The Medieval Carmina Burana".
The medieval Carmina Burana, now in their modern composition by Carl Orff, appeals to audiences all over the world. In their medieval notational structure, they sounded very different, but the philsoophical messags contained in the songs revererate throughout times. Orff had the genius to cast those into modern music, but the insights, reflections, ideas, feelings, and concerns formulated in the song texts are, despite often being somewhat problematic, of a timeless nature.
