Betsy Carter awarded ACTFL Research Priority Grant

Please join us in congratulating Betsy Carter, who was awarded a Research Priority Grant from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) to support her dissertation research about the long-term effects of study abroad. Betsy is a doctoral candidate in the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT). Her dissertation research is supervised by Dr. Peter Ecke in the Department of German Studies. Betsy TA-ed and taught German in our Department and to UA engineering students in the Research in Munich, Germany, program in the summers of 2022-2025.
