German Studies and Second Language Acquisition and Teaching researchers Diane Richardson, Kristin Lange, and Prof. Chantelle Warner presented their findings on the role of digital gaming in second language learning and literacy, at the 2015 American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Convention in San Diego, California. Their research focuses on helping students to understand digital games as texts, as forms of linguistic and cultural practice, and as opportunities for critical awareness (about gender, violence, censorship, etc.) German Studies Departmental graduate students Lydia Heiss and Patrick Plotschnitzki also attended this year's convention.
