German Studies faculty member, Chantelle Warner, has been invited to present at the symposium "Rethinking Modern Languages," which will be held at the University of Copenhagen on September 11. The aim of the event is to take stock of what it means to teaching languages, literatures and cultures today and consider new paradigms for modern language study. Dr. Warner's talk, "Designs and Desires: Literacy as Core Concept in Contemporary Modern Language Study," will consider the role that aesthetics and the imagination can play when learning a new language and will highlight examples from the UA German Studies Department's courses.
