German Studies Faculty and Alumni to present at 2021 German Studies Association Conference

Dr. Chantelle Warner is co-hosting a seminar on "Problems of Linguistic Indifference in German Studies" at the event together with Professor David Gramling (University of Bristish Columbia), which includes German Studies professor Dr. Janice McGregor and PhD alumn Patrick Ploschnitzki. 

As co-coordinator of the Black Diaspora Studies Network of the GSA, Dr. Obenewaa Oduro-Opuni is coordinating and moderating a series of panels, giving a "Food for Thought" lightening talk on "“A Black Studies Approach to German-Language Abolitionist Theater," and giving a paper on "Black Bodies and Black Humanity in German Abolitionist Theater." As co-coordinator of the Environmental Studies Network of the GSA, Dr. Joela Jacobs is coordinating and moderating a series of panels and participating in a seminar on "Crime and the Law in Germany from Unification to Reunification." Dr. Barbara Kosta is giving a paper on "Casting Lya de Putti: Reconsidering the Vamp in Weimar Cinema" and moderating a related panel.

PhD candidate Richmond Embeywa is participating in an Emerging Scholars Workshop, and PhD candidate Thomas Fuhr is moderating a panel on "Knowing the Non-Human."
