Profs. Chantelle Warner and David Gramling are happy to announce the launch and inaugural issue of Critical Multilingualism Studies (cms.arizona.edu), a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal of scholarship on multilingualism, monolingualism, and their social, cultural, and historical contexts. The first issue includes essays on literature, second language acquisition, language rights, globalization, bilingual identities, music, artificial intelligence, mechanical translation, and coloniality. The CMS Journal is an open-access platform, and is therefore free to all users. CMS welcomes submissions from a variety of scholarly fields and approaches. Please see our attached Call for Papers.

German Studies graduate students Alexander Ganz PhD(c), Managing Editor, and Charly Mostert, Kerry Marnell, and Christina Butler (Editorial Team) made crucial contributions to the production of the journal. German Studies professor Peter Ecke is also serving on the journal's Editorial Board. Thanks to everyone for their assistance and support!
