Please join the Department of German Studies in congratulating Albrecht Classen on the selection of his edited Handbook of Medieval Studies: Terms, Methods and Trends to CHOICE’s list of Outstanding Academic Titles. Out of over 25.000 books, Prof. Classen’s latest work has been selected for its academic excellence as well as its innovative content.

The Handbook of Medieval Studies has been officially selected in Choice’s (Choice – Current Reviews for Academic Libraries) annual OAT list, which will appear in the January issue of Choice Magazine. This year’s Outstanding Academic Title list includes 629 books and electronic resources chosen by the Choice editorial staff from among the 7,263 titles reviewed by Choice during the past year. These outstanding works have been selected for their excellence in scholarship and presentation, the significance of their contribution to the field, and their value as important – often the first – treatment of their subject.

Compromising just over 9 percent of the titles reviewed by Chocie during the past year, and less than 3 percent of the more than 25,000 titles submitted to Choice during this same period, Outstanding Academic Titles are truly the “best of the best.” As always, only a select group of publishers and authors are represented on such a list. Congratulations again to Prof. Classen for this remarkable achievement.
