In March 2017, second-year PhD student Patrick Ploschnitzki was approached by German screenwriter, director, and author David Sedlaczek, who was looking for a translator for his first novel, Runaway. Sedlaczek had utilized the translator database provided by the American Literary Translators Association to contact him. Patrick accepted the novel-length project and worked on it under supervision of his doctoral advisor, Prof. David Gramling as part of his independent studies. The German version appeared as an eBook in German in late July. The English version translated by Patrick is currently under review and will be published soon thereafter as an eBook, and featuring the translator’s photography on the cover.
