Dear student of German,
I would like to invite you to apply for the 2017 Summer Study in Leipzig - Germany Program, an intensive program in German language and culture. The program will take place June 2-July 1,2017 (roughly the time of summer session I) and will earn participants 6 units of UA credit. Students of any area of study with a minimum of two semesters of college German (GER 102) are invited to apply. Students planning to fulfill the four-semester second language requirement and majors and minors of German are particularly encouraged to apply.
Estimated program cost (including tuition, housing, excursions, local transportation, health insurance) is $2,900 (excluding airfare). There are a number of good scholarship opportunities and application forms right on the program’s web page (see link below) and on the German Studies website:http://german.arizona.edu/awards. The application deadline for most scholarships is January 30. The deadline for applications for the program is February 15. Acceptance notices will be sent out to qualifying applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis so that program participants can make travel arrangements early. We will accept a maximum of 27 students.
