Wildcat Germanists at ACTFL Convention in Boston

Several of our current and former UA Germanists are traveling to Boston this weekend to share their research at the Annual Convention of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), among them Dr. Chantelle Warner, Kristin Lange, Kyung Lee Gagum, Chelsea Timlin, Lydia Heiss, and German Studies alumnae Dr. Diane Richardson (US Military Academy Westpoint) and Kerry Marnell (Canyon Del Oro High School). Their presentation topics are listed below. Go Wildcats!

Kyung Lee Gagum and Kristin Lange will present their work about the refugee crisis in first and second semester German courses in a panel on “Multiculturalism in Germany: Teaching Cultural Diversity”

Chelsea Timlin will presents her research on Günter Eich’s poem Inventur in a panel titled “Making Connections Through Literature: Novice-Intermediate Levels”

Dr. Diane Richardson, Lydia Heiss, and Kerry Marnell will present “Exploring Linguistic Landscape in K–16 German Language Classrooms”

Dr. Chantelle Warner, co-director of CERCLL, together with colleagues from three other Title VI Language Resource Centers, will present on “Free Innovative Technology Tools from the Language Resource Centers”
