PhD candidate Harriet Olulo attended the Emerging Scholars Workshop at the 48th German Studies Association Conference, held from September 26th to 29th in Atlanta, Georgia. This year’s workshop, titled “Global German Studies and the Politics of Belonging,” facilitated in-depth discussions on how the field of German Studies can foster critical and sustainable pathways for scholarly activism and allyship, aimed at promoting a radical politics of belonging. During the workshop, Harriet presented her research topic and received valuable feedback, which would greatly enhance her work. She also had the opportunity to network with faculty and fellow graduate students, further enriching her understanding of the field. Harriet would like to express her gratitude to the Department of German Studies for their encouragement and support.
