Today has been a very special day for Dr. Joela Jacobs, who achieved multiple significant milestones! The day started off with Dr. Jacobs’ virtual book launch of Animal, Vegetal, Marginal: The German Literary Grotesque from Panizza to Kafka – a project that has been in the works for over a decade. The launch was organized by Dr. David Gramling and featured many special moments, as friends from all over the world joined in to celebrate her book’s publication.
Around the same time, it was announced that Dr. Jacobs has been selected as one of two faculty members to join the 2025 cohort of the Franke Scholars Academy in the W.A. Franke Honors College. This prestigious recognition is testimony to her exceptional dedication as a teacher and a mentor, as well as her outstanding work as a researcher.
As the day progressed, Dr. Jacobs was also promoted to Associate Professor with tenure! We are absolutely thrilled to congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition of her excellence in research, teaching, and service and are grateful to have Dr. Jacobs as our colleague. Many people joined in celebrating this wonderful moment.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Joela Jacobs on all of these wonderful achievements. Dr. Jacobs, it was a joy getting to celebrate this special day with you. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
