Jane Ninsiima has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in German from Makerere Univeristy, Uganda. For the Master of Arts in German, she researched on the problems of translating from European into African languages. As a case study, she translated the German play “Emilia Galotti” into Runyankore-Rukiga her mother tongue. The play has been published and is currently being used in Ugandan schools to teach Runyankore-Rukiga. She has taught German as a foreign language (DaF) in secondary school and at university level. She also has experience in translation and interpreting in four languages: German, English, Luganda, and Runyankore-Rukiga. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Arizona, studying and teaching in the Department of German Studies.
