Wang Jingwen, born in China, received her undergraduate degree in Germanic Languages and Literature from the Beijing Institute of Technology and her master's degree in German as a Foreign Language from the University of Kassel. Now she is a doctoral student in the binational Transcultural German Studies PhD program at the University of Arizona and Leipzig University.

For her master's thesis she analyzed the use of poetry in different textbooks and how to teach German through poetry, and also had her first encounter with concrete poetry as something that crosses the border between art and literature. Her doctoral dissertation analyzes concrete poetry using transmediality and the aesthetics of reception. Her research is inseparable from her interest in contemporary art and avant-garde literature.

As a translator she has translated and published two children's books from German to Chinese, as a teacher she has four years of teaching experience, and her hobbies are Chinese Qigong and cooking. You can call her Jasmine.
