Ibrahim graduated from Kenyatta University in 2019, earning a Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree in German and History. He has since gained experience teaching German as a foreign language at two Kenyan high schools and as a private tutor in Nairobi. Ibrahim was awarded a double DAAD scholarship to attend a summer course at Freie Universität Berlin, as well as a study trip to visit the universities in the cities of Bremen, Bielefeld, and Köln. This experience in 2018 further deepened his passion for the German language, literature, and culture. Recently, Ibrahim has completed professional courses at the Goethe Institute, the most recent one being a workshop in Dresden. This workshop, themed "Methodology and Didactics for Young People," has been instrumental in his professional development. Before joining the University of Arizona, Ibrahim worked as a Customer Service Representative at Cigna International, assisting clients in both English and German. His research interests lie in German culture, literature, and films, as well as in teaching German as a foreign language and second language acquisition. He is particularly interested in focusing on the learning experiences of German language students in the 21st century and the role of digitization in learning German as a foreign language.
