Merceline earned her bachelor’s degree in German and Christian Religious Education, with a minor in Japanese Language, from Kenyatta University in Kenya. She subsequently worked as a customer service representative in Nairobi, where she supported German and Austrian clients. She later volunteered with UNESCO’s Kulturweit program as a classroom assistant at a comprehensive school in Bremen, Germany. This experience sparked her interest in intercultural education and education for sustainability. Merceline has gained extensive experience teaching German both privately and at language schools in Kenya. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in German Studies at the University of Arizona, where her academic interests include applied linguistics and second-language acquisition.
